TO FOLLOW

We would be honoured if you would join us as we exchange our vows and celebrate with us, in the lovely surroundings of Woodland Valley Farm.

This is just a 'save the date' for now, to fix ourselves in your hectic schedules. Given Tom's mad interweb skillz and the general green theme of our wedding, we won't be sending physical invitations: we'll be publishing all the details online in due course and will email you a link. If we've used the wrong one for you do let us know a better one!

Those of you coming from across the big sea might want to begin thinking about flights - do get in touch to discuss your plans and we'll be able to advise on travel down to Cornwall from wherever it looks like you'll land.

Partners and children who haven't received this email direct are of course welcome - we've already counted them where we know about them. It would be great if you could let us know whether you think you'll be able to make it. We don't need final numbers for a while but a rough idea would be really handy.

With love and great excitement,
Tom & Hazel

The Details

The ceremony and reception will take place at Woodland Valley Farm located at Ladock, Cornwall, UK, TR2 4PT. We will be doing our best to organise travel to and from the farm in the towns where most guests are staying.

Schedule:

  • 4pm - ceremony
  • 6pm - dinner and speeches
  • 8pm - barn dancing, bar time, music hut moments and chillin'
  • Carriages, farm carts, taxis, wheelbarrows and goat buggies at 11:30pm.

...a word on clothes.

In case you'd missed it, you should know this isn't going to be the most formal ceremony you ever heard of: the bride is wearing cowboy boots. The venue is a working farm, so don't wear your most precious spiky heels, and be aware it's England in September: the weather is totally unpredictable. Bring layers!

Without a car, the best way to get down to Cornwall from all major airports and centres is by train or coach to Newquay or Truro.

Woodland Valley Farm "

We have some beds available at Woodland Valley Farm for Friday and Saturday nights (13th/14th September). These are hostel dorm beds, with basic shared bathroom and kitchen facilities kitchens.

A pasty lunch will be provided at Woodland Valley Farm on Friday night as well as do-it-yourself breakfast for the morning. We will be having dinner at The Falmouth Arms in Ladock.

Crantock "

A picture postcard Cornish seaside village with a couple of pubs, a shop, excellent beaches and a 700 year old church.

Newquay "

More practical but less picturesque with a wide range accommodation to suit all pockets. It's the surf capital of the UK (don't expect too much!) and a favourite place for family and school holidays.

Airbnb is also a great place to look for accommodation - try putting ‘TR2 4PT’ into the search box, or just ‘Truro’ or ‘Newquay’.

Get'n 'round

You'll need to get a cab from your arrival point to where you're staying. We suggest the following firms:

  • If you're coming in to Newquay station, use a2b Newquay (fare from Newquay station to the venue for a car, daytime, is £22 - if you let us know your train or similar, we can try and hook up groups!)
  • If you're coming in to Truro station, use a2b Truro (fare from Truro station to the venue for a car, daytime, is £24).

We will arrange transport to and from Crantock and Newquay to Woodland Valley Farm, if enough people stay in these locations. A coach would pick people up in each place around 3pm, and return you again around 11:30pm. If you'd prefer to make your own arrangements you are of course welcome, but we suggest you book cabs before you arrive, as phone reception in Cornwall is notoriously unreliable.

Car hire is available at Truro rail station:
